Grady at home

Grady has been a little so-so on preschool lately.  He's been saying he doesn't play with anyone, he'd rather stay home, he's bored there.  He's also been giving me trouble about going to gymnastics.  I don't know yet if it's just a phase or if something happened at preschool that he didn't like.  It makes it tough to decide what to do for him next year - go to the same preschool, a different preschool, more days a week, the same number, etc.  For now, he's home with me at least two days a week plus all afternoons.

It's been rough with the snow but Grady's found some fun for himself.  He helps me a little bit when I'm cooking something but he gets bored really fast.  He'll add one or two things and then be all done.  But one day while I was cooking, Grady decided he wanted to try squeezing grapes.  I made him do it in the bathroom with a bowl.  He sat there for a really long time, squeezing each grape individually.  I swear when he was done, he only had about 1/2 a teaspoon of juice in the bowl.  The whole counter and most of Grady was really sticky though.  He drank his juice before we cleaned up and said it was very good.

The weather was a little warmer later that week, so Grady got to ride his scooter bike down to the mailbox with me.  There was still clumps of snow in the shady spots and our fort was still working on melting, but most of the sidewalk was clear and Grady was so happy to be outside doing something.  When we got back to the house, he laid the bike down - of course, right in the little bit of snow - and started kicking all the snow.  He threw some good solid chunks too.  After 5-10 minutes with the snow, he was done and ready to go in.
