Grady in a tree

Grady has a thing for trying to climb trees.  Almost all of the trees near our house are evergreen types that really can't be climbed.  He tries every once in a while.  He'll see a giant oak tree and he'll run over and try to get some traction to climb it, but it never really works.
Our trip to Vasona had some nice climbing trees by the creek.  Grady was climbing all over them.  Eventually he got stuck each time and had to be helped down.  But he was so happy to be climbing on them.
After a while, he also tried climbing around near the edge of the creek.  I warned him that I couldn't get down the embankment, so he was going to have to make it back up to me.
Well, he got scraped by a bush or something while he was climbing around and froze and started crying.  He couldn't tell me what was wrong when I asked so of course I had to find a way down the embankment.  Then I had to carry him back up.  He was absolutely no help on the way back up.  He refused to scramble the last little bit or anything.

Grady cried about his scrape even at the top.  There was a bit of blood, so I rinsed his hand off with a water bottle.  The scrape didn't look too bad and I couldn't see a thorn or anything under his skin.  The idea of the scrape bothered him for quite a while.  He kept asking when he could get a bandaid.

Then when we got to the kayak section of the park, the scrape was completely forgotten.  He showed Boris at one point, but I'm pretty sure he showed him the wrong hand and/or finger.  He looked at his hands and turned them back and forth before saying "I think it's this one".  So I think he'll live.  He mentioned the scrape once or twice more, but never found a spot that was hurting again.
