Peter's Mother's Day present

The boys both had Mother's Day presents that they worked on at school.  Grady is having a special Mother's Day Tea tomorrow, so he was rather upset that he didn't have the present to give to me on Mother's Day.

Peter finished his Mother's Day present at school on Friday.  When we picked him up from school, he tried to keep it hidden behind his back the whole walk back to the car.  Then he kept it on the seat with his backpack in front of it to hide it in the car.  When we got home, he made me stay in the car while he took it inside to hide it.

About 10 minutes after we got home, he got tired of having it hidden and had to give it to me right then.  Here is it:

He was so proud of it.  His whole face was just lit up handing everything to me.  He explained all of it too.  He would have picked blue flowers if they had them, because he knows that's my favorite color.  The wrapping on the vase was something like: "pink or blue, so I chose blue.  It's really purple, but that's pretty close to blue".

Then there's the card:

Dear Mom, You are special because you are the nicest mom I love.  Love, Peter

It is so cute the way he phrases the things he writes.  I can't help wondering what other mom there might be that's not as nice or that he just doesn't love.
