During the last days of Winter Break, the boys finally got into a groove of playing together. Wednesday they played almost all day without fighting. We went to the Children's Museum and they played for two hours together there. Then we got home and they put on their costumes and played the rest of the day.
Grady got the alien costume for Christmas and Peter got the Flash costume. Somehow the game worked out that Peter wore the alien costume and Grady wore Peter's old Wolverine costume (that has never been worn before). All of it was very surprising because the boys haven't worn costumes in ages and both boys tend to get very self-conscious about anyone seeing them in the costumes.
The game started out as the poor scared alien would see something scary and the Wolverine would go fight it away. They ran back and forth across the house finding more scary things for the Wolverine to fight. Even though the Wolverine is very small it only took a "slash, slash" to kill whatever was nearby.
After a while the game evolved to some form of playing school. Everyone would be sleeping and then usually Grady would say "all right boys and girls. Everyone line up behind me". Sometimes Peter would be a part of the line. Sometimes he would be making sure everyone else lined up.
The next day, after a playdate, the boys put on costumes again. Except this time Peter was the Flash. The both ran around fighting the bad guys for a while and then did some kind of school game too.
