A recent conversation with the boys
Grady: When girls get older, they get a baby in their tummy at their birthday. And then another and another at each birthday. Just like a baby dinosaur is in his mama's tummy sleeping in his egg.
Peter: But dinosaurs didn't have names because there weren't any people around to buy them as pets.
I didn't even know where to start with that so I left it at "having a baby in a mama's tummy has nothing to do with birthdays".
The boys were building with blocks and Peter took a lot of time making his building just right. It would fall down and he'd start again. When he finished, he said "see, it's a horse. here's his head and here's his tail". He's been thinking about chess non-stop so anything he builds or makes lately is somehow tied to a chess set.
