First Round of Summer Break Pictures

The boys have been working on lots of pictures since summer break started.  They made books today that I haven't gotten pictures of yet.  But here are some of their projects from earlier this week:

Peter's picture of the Justice League.  He colored it (did not draw it).  One of his first projects using the new pencils.  I think he spend two evenings with this picture.

Next up is Peter's picture of Superman shooting his heat vision.  He drew a picture of this on his wipe board first and then Boris recommended that he draw it on paper.  He also signs it with his fancy signature.

Grady's picture.  He drew a house with a tree and made a star over the square in the upper corner.

Grady's first picture with the new pencils.  I asked Boris if Grady drew the whole thing himself because I was pretty impressed with all the colors and his name added in.  Boris did not help with any of it.  This was intended to be a thank you note to send to Igor for the pencils, but Grady currently isn't too happy with the idea of him no longer having the picture.

This is the back side of the Grady paper.  When he started drawing it, he told me "I'm making some homework for Igor to work on".  Igor is supposed to count the circles and rectangles and stars and put the number of each on the line below the shape.  Then Grady really wanted to draw an octagon.  Boris showed him how, but Grady was having trouble getting it the way he wanted it to look.  There was some frustration and almost throwing of things.  But he dealt with it and then was able to make the stop sign he wanted.

Here is Peter's thank you card for Igor.  Superman definitely had to grace the cover.  Peter told me yesterday, when he grows up he probably wants to be a comic book artist, a race car driver or a superhero.  Of course, he might also want to work in an office like Papa because sometimes you want to do what your Papa does.

And the inside of the card.  This one at least will probably get sent soon.  Life has been too busy to get it in the mail just yet.  The boys had fun making these, partly because Boris sat with them coloring on his own page.  The boys love to draw when Boris works next to them.
